Impetigo

Impetigo is a highly contagious, superficial bacterial skin infection most common among children 2 to 6 years old. People who are in close contact with the infected children or play close contact sports such as rugby, American football, and wrestling are also susceptible, regardless of age. Impetigo can present in both bullous and non-bullous forms. Treatments of impetigo include topical or oral antibiotics and proper wound care. It is crucial to treat impetigo early to avoid closed contact spread to other parts of the body or persons.
